Governance Solutions Group, or GSG announced on August 24 that it had obtained direct equity investment from Shanghai Finance Institute, SFI, which was an unofficial, non-profit financial professional think tank for policy research in the fields of new finance and international finance.
Founded in 2017, GSG focuses on China’s capital market to provide corporate governance solutions and sustainable development services. The company has signed the United Nations’s Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and is a third-party ESG and corporate governance consulting agency under Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
ESG is an investment philosophy and corporate evaluation standard that focuses on corporate environment, society, and governance performance rather than financial performance. Based on ESG evaluation, investors can evaluate the contribution of their target investment companies in promoting sustainable economic development and fulfilling social responsibilities.
At present, the global investment community, including China, has widely recognized the importance of including the environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions.
Under such context, GSG provides customers with services of rating, consulting, and data with customized solutions. Currently, some of China's top asset management institutions including Bosera Funds are accepting GSG’s services.
In addition, GSG can also provide services of sustainability consulting, corporate governance solutions and ESG rating improvement for the A-share and Hong Kong-listed companies.
