On August 6, the leading group of Shuzi Guangxi (Digital Guangxi) publicized a plan for the years from 2020 to 2025 and guiding instructions for the development of blockchain industry and application in Guangxi on the official website of its Big Data Development Bureau.
It proposes to build a pilot demonstration zone for the innovation and development of the blockchain industry in China’s western region, as well as a new highland for the development of the blockchain industry in ASEAN.
According to the plan, by 2022, Guangxi should have established a preliminary pilot demonstration zone of blockchain industry and application in the western region of China, with more than 30 industry blockchain application solutions, 50 replicable and propagable typical blockchain application demonstrations, 5 to 10 blockchain technology innovation platforms and public service platforms, 3 blockchain industry bases, 5 leading blockchain companies and more than 100 promising blockchain companies, 500 middle- and senior-level talents, and more than 200 blockchain-related patents.
By 2025, a new highland of blockchain industry in ASEAN should be formed in Guangxi, with 100 demonstrations of replicable and propagable typical application, more than 10 leading blockchain companies, 5 to 10 blockchain industry bases, more than 15 blockchain technology innovation platforms and public service platforms, more than 1,000 middle- and senior-level talents, and so on.
China attaches great importance to the development of blockchain technology, and for the first time includes the technology to its Thirteenth Five-Year plan.
Since 2020, a number of provinces in China have successively introduced relevant policies. Besides Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Hainan, Beijing, Jiangsu, and Hebei have all issued the blockchain development policies.
