On August 12, JDMRO, the industrial product purchasing platform under JD.com announced the completion of acquisition of VIPMRO, one of China’s leading online procurement platform for MRO products that had 100,000 industrial retail stores settled in.
Song Chunzheng, Vice President of JD.com and President in charge of the Enterprise Business Division, stated that VIPMRO would serve as a sub-brand of JD.com’s own industrial product purchasing platform and provide MRO services to the offline terminal retail stores. JDMRO also launched a partner store program to attract more industrial products retail stores.
According to Tianyancha, VIPMRO is affiliated to Suzhou Gongpinhui Information Technology Co., Ltd., which was established in February 2007 with a registered capital of approximately 19.08 million yuan.
The business of the company includes developing computer software and the related technical consulting services, selling mechanical equipment, accessories, and automatic control systems, as well as selling general labor protection supplies, fire-fighting equipment and products, electronic components, and etc.
In May 2018, VIPMRO completed a 200 million yuan B1 round of financing, which was led by JD.com.
In the first half of this year, JD.com has had intensive capital operations in the enterprise service market. After raising USD 230 million for JDMRO, JD.com successively invested in enterprises in the field of IT office equipment, like the Bear Rental, and e-bidding service provider like Truelore Information.
